【Ingredients】

Active Ingredient: saxagliptin

Chemical Name: (1S,3S,5S)-2-[(2S)-2-amino-2-(3-hydroxy-1-adamantyl)-1-carboxyethyl]-2-azabicyclo[3.1.0]hexane-3-nitrile monohydrate

Molecular Weight: 333.43 (monohydrate); 315.41 (anhydrous free base) 

【Description】

2.5mg: This product is a yellow film-coated tablet, appearing white after removing the coating.

5mg: This product is an off-white film-coated tablet, appearing white 

after removing the coating. 

【Indication】

For type 2 diabetes.

Monotherapy

It can be used as monotherapy to improve blood glucose control on the basis of diet and exercise.

Combination therapy

When metformin hydrochloride alone has poor blood glucose control, it can be used in combination with metformin hydrochloride to improve 

blood glucose control on the basis of diet and exercise.

Combination insulin therapy (with or without metformin).

Important Use Restrictions

This product is not intended for use in patients with type 1 diabetes 

mellitus or diabetic ketoacidosis because effectiveness in type 1 

diabetes mellitus and diabetic ketoacidosis has not been established.

This product has not been studied in patients with a history of 

pancreatitis. It has not been determined whether the use of this product in patients with a history of pancreatitis increases the risk of pancreatitis (see 【Precautions】). 

【Strength】

(1) 2.5mg; (2) 5mg 

【Dosage and Administration】

Take orally at the recommended dose of 5mg once daily, regardless of 

the timing of meals.

Saxagliptin tablets should not be cut or broken open for administration.
